写真集 と デニス・シャープ、マキ・パビリオンについて  フローニンゲン・シーポーツ、デルフザイル     　イギリスの建築家デニス・シャープ（1933-2010）は建築の世界で大きな役割を果たしました。彼自身のプロジェクトは別にして、建築一般にも大きく貢献しました。 　「L’Architettura」London/Roma の特派員としても働き、英国内外で特別講義を行い、国際建築アカデミー（ブルガリア、ソフィア）のジャーナル編集にも携わりました。 　名前が知られるようになったデニス・シャープは、それらと並んで著書、“The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Architects and Architecture” (1991) や、図版の豊富な参考図書 “Twentienth Century Architecture – A Visual History” (2002) 等も出版します。 　この参考図書(第４刷 2004)の458ページに、槇文彦氏のパビリオンについて書かれていますので、英文のまま紹介します。 The result of an international competition the movable structure of the Floating Pavilion was part of the much wider urban renewal programme for this northern Dutch City (Groningen). Maki was one among a number of architects brought in to aid its renaissance. He chose to be unobtrusive lending the place a flexible yet dynamic public facility. The Pavilion has a unique silhouette open to the sky and the changing clouds and creates its own dynamic presence when the stage is lit up and sounds are emitted from the barge. With due prescience Maki designed a multi-purpose lightweight pavilion set on a concrete barge. The boat charges up and down the water at suitable times of the year attracting audiences for performances on both sides of the canal.
